Clarke to attend IMF meeting in Washington D.C

Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr Nigel Clarke, will on Wednesday lead the Jamaican delegation at the 2019 Spring Meetings of Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Washington D.C.

Also, Clarke will then attend the Fourth Annual UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Forum on Financing for Development to be held on April 15 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.   

While attending the Spring Meetings, the delegation is scheduled to engage in a series of meetings with the management of the IMF and the World Bank.

In addition, Clarke has been invited to speak at a high-level ministerial lunch on financing for development as well as at various seminars on fiscal policy and disaster resilience strategies.

At the invitation of the President of ECOSOC, Clarke is scheduled to participate as a panellist in the Ministerial Finance Dialogue on “Mobilizing Finance for Climate Action” at the Fourth Annual ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development in New York.

Members of the Jamaican delegation accompanying Clarke include Brian Wynter, Bank of Jamaica Governor; Darlene Morrison, Financial Secretary; Dr Wayne Henry, Director General of the Planning Institute of Jamaica; Dian Black, Deputy Financial Secretary of the Economic Management Division; and Dr Karelle Samuda, Jamaica House Fellow.
