Fire damage art department at Seaforth High School

An early morning fire has damaged a section of the Seaforth High School in St Thomas.

Assistant Commissioner of the Jamaica Fire Brigade Alaric Hacker says his colleagues from the Morant Bay division responded to the call at 5:30 a.m Saturday.

According to Hacker, the fire was confined to the visual arts department on one block.

He also reported that the fire has since been contained.

Principal Colbert Thomas and St Thomas Western Member of Parliament James Robertson are among people who have gathered at the scene to survey the damage.
