Two men are in police custody this weekend following the seizure of a quantity of cocaine valued nearly $300,000.

The drugs were seized on Friday during an anti-narcotics operation on Mountain View Avenue in Kingston.

The police say about 10:00 a.m., they signalled to the driver of a Toyota Probox motor car to stop. He obeyed and the police searched the vehicle and the occupants of the car. The cops found compressed cocaine weighing .227 kilogramme.

The car and drugs were seized and the men arrested. Their identities, however, are being withheld pending further investigation. The actual street value of the cocaine is $295,000.
