The Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA) will host its 51st annual general meeting (AGM) and conference virtually today, January 25.

The CSA, which represents over 100 members and national associations across the region, will also elect a new president and vice-president, as well as chairpersons for its primary membership groups.

The first session includes an address by outgoing President Juan Carlos Croston, who will deliver his final speech to members after serving since October 2018. The CSA’s general manager, Milaika Capella Ras, will moderate the day’s proceedings.

The second session will include presentations by guest speakers, including president of McCann Consulting Victoria McCann, who will share on ‘Creating a workplace mentoring programme’; executive director of Smith Family Business Initiative, Daniel Van Der Vliet, who will discuss ‘Changing the narrative surrounding family business’; and leadership expert and author Eduardo Braun, who will explore ‘People first leadership’ and using culture and emotion to drive results.

The CSA’s AGM will also include announcements for its upcoming Caribbean Shipping Executives Conference slated for May; the launch of its first report by the Caribbean Research Institute; and information on its next annual general meeting, exhibition and conference.

The CSA’s AGMs have been crucial to the development of regional shipping, facilitating maritime enterprises, professional development and industrial relations, and the exchange of specialised information.
