Aston Villa held on to secure a point against Sunderland after playing the majority of the second half with 10 men following Fabian Delph's dismissal. Delph was sent off for a late lunge on Jordi Gomez and the match sparked into life following his red card. Both teams ended the game with 10 men as Leicester's Paul Konchesky and the hosts' Stephen Quinn were dismissed.

Burnley came back from two goals down to deny Manchester City a club record 10th successive win. City were cruising when David Silva and Fernandinho scored within a 10-minute period in the middle of the first half. Papiss Cisse swept home to level from Mike Williamson's pull back, before Ayoze Pérez drove in from 18 yards. Jack Colback then pounced on Ross Barkley's mistake to poke home the third, before Kevin Mirallas set up a tense finish with a clipped finish.

QUEENS PARK RANGERS 0 CRYSTAL PALACE 0

Managerless Crystal Palace remain in the Barclays Premier League's bottom three despite a spirited display that earned them a point at Queens Park Rangers. GOALS:- SOUTHAMPTON: MANE 17th. CHELSEA: HAZARD 45th.

Chelsea missed the chance to tighten their grip on the Barclays Premier League title race. Sadio Mane gave Saints a deserved early lead, but a superb equaliser seconds before half-time from Eden Hazard set up José Mourinho's title pacesetters for a second-half siege. Southampton even survived Morgan Schneiderlin's late sending off, after a second yellow card for a reckless challenge on Fabregas.

STOKE CITY 2 WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0

GOALS:- STOKE: DIOUF 51st; 66th.

A brace from striker Mame Diouf gave Stoke victory at the Britannia Stadium and piled more pressure on West Brom head coach Alan Irvine.
