ATLANTA, Georgia:

Captain Rodolph Austin has welcomed the return of Je-Vaughn Watson and Darren Mattocks to the Jamaican match squad today's CONCACAF Gold Cup semi-final football match against the United States at Georgia Dome here today, beginning at 6 p.m. (5 p.m. Jamaica time).

"They're two key players who were missed in the last game," said Austin. "The guys who replaced them in Haiti did well. It's a bit tough on them, but they understand."

Watson missed last Saturday's quarter-final against Haiti in Baltimore after accumulating two yellow cards in the group stage and Mattocks was sent off in the final Group B encounter against El Salvador in Toronto.

freshness to team

Austin said both will add some freshness to the Jamaica team, which is chasing its first finals appearance at the Gold Cup.

"It's nice to get back those players and we know that they will be fresher, so it's fantastic having them back," he said.

Watson plays alongside Austin in a double central role, which has largely contributed to their team's dominance and strong defending. They conceded two goals in a four-minute spell against Costa Rica but kept clean sheets in three other matches.

Speaking ahead of today's semi-final Austin said the Reggae Boyz had the belief to do well.

"We've the energy in there to fight against them," Austin pointed out. "We just have just to go out there and play our football, not think about them too much, let them think about us and I think when we do that we'll be okay."
