Aisha Praught takes to the Beijing track for Jamaica in 3,000m steeplechase

The first session on day three of the IAAF World Championships will see Jamaica being represented in an event the country does not usually feature.

Aisha Praught will line up in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase at 8:45 p.m.

The 25-year-old will face the starters in the first of three heats where she will run out of lane seven.

Prauhgt, who switched allegiance from the United States, comes in with a season best of 9:36.63 which she recorded in July.

The Oregon-based distance runner, whose parents are Jamaicans, decided to represent the island after meeting her biological father Joseph Grant in Germany in 2013.
