#Back2Beijing: Jamaicans book spots for 400m hurdles final

Kaliese Spencer and Janieve Russell both booked their places for the final of the women’s 400m hurdles final set for Tuesday at 7:25 a.m.

Spencer, who went out hard and led for most of the race, tired towards the end and had to settle for second in her semi-final heat with a time of 54.45.

Sara Peterson took the event in a time of 54.34.

Russell was also second in her semis in a new personal best time of 54.78 to make it to her first senior championships final on her first attempt.

Zuzana Hejnova of the Czech Republic took the event in 54.24 to go into the final with the fastest time.
