Dacres - sole Jamaican flag bearer for discus final

National Champion, Fedrick Dacres will be Jamaica’s sole flag bearer in the IAAF World Championships discus final.
Dacres finished the best of the throwers with a mark of 65.77m recorded in his first throw.
The Pan American Games champion, Dacres, was one of only two athletes who made the 65m mark which is the automatic qualifying mark.
National Record holder, Jason Morgan’s series of throws of 60.85m, 60.81m and 60.02m was not good enough for him to qualify from his group.
Chad Wright also failed to advance with his throws of 60.78m, 61.53m and 61.23m.
The discus final will be on Friday, August 28 at 6:50 a.m.
