Jamaica's Moscow hero Javon Francis is said to be OK after injuring his shoulder on the final leg of the men's 4X400m relay.
Francis was carted off on a stretcher.
He seemed to have been hit in the back with the baton by the Brazilian athlete Hugo De Sousa.
Jamaica fell in love with Francis when, as a student of Calabar High, he took the nation to silver in the 2013 IAAF World Championships.
Francis who was 18 years old at the time got the baton in fifth place and after rounding runners from Russia, Belgium and Great Britain went after 400m champion Leshawn Merritt who was anchoring the USA team.
