Munro take control
St Elizabeth Technical's struggles on the road surfaced once again as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Maggotty in their ISSA/FLOW Group E daCosta Cup game yesterday, a result that allowed rivals Munro College to jump into the lead of the group after their win over B.B. Coke.
Munro slammed B.B. Coke 4-0 to benefit from STETHS' draw, while Lacovia High returned to winning ways, beating lowly Newell 2-0.
The latest results have thrown the group wide open with Munro grabbing the front position on 13 points. Lacovia, courtesy of a superior goal difference, edge STETHS for second place. Both have 12 points, one more that B.B. Coke (11 pts) while Maggotty (6 pts) and Newell (2 pts) round out the group.
Spot Valley High defeated William Knibb High 1-0 to move to eight points in Group C, while Muschett and Herbert Morrison played to a 1-1 draw.
Other results include Dinthill's 4-0 win over McGrath, Vere drew 1-1 with Old Harbour, Porus were drubbed 5-0 by Glenmuir High, Petersfield were stunned 1-0 by Maud McLeod in Group D.
Meanwhile, Manchester kept up their impressive record with a 9-3 victory over Belair. Garvey Maceo were beaten 1-0 by Denbigh, Cross Keys downed Winston Jones 2-0, while Central High beat Fogo Road 2-1.
