Opener John Campbell scored a half-century, but was the only batsman to offer any real resistance for Paul Palmer Jr XI on yesterday's second day of Jamaica Scorpions' four-day practice match at Kensington Park yesterday. Campbell, 18 not out overnight, went on to score 51, as Palmer Jr XI, responding to 234 made by David Bernard Jr XI on day one, were dismissed for 145. His overnight partner, Barbadian Kirk Edwards, with whom he put on 67 for the second wicket, was next best with a knock of 28.

Left-arm spinner Nikita Miller, three for 26 and fast bowlers Jason Dawes and Marquino Mindley, two for 26 and two for 41, respectively, led the way for Bernard Jr XI.

Bernard Jr XI, in their second turn at bat, also found the going rough before closing at 143 for eight. Opener Shacaya Thomas, who cracked a topscore of 95 in the first-innings, again led the way with 34.

Fast bowler Leighton Leslie, four for 33, and Dennis Bulli, three for 35, have claimed most wickets thus far.
