Penn Relays 2017 - Edwin Allen advance to sprint relay final
DEFENDING champions Edwin Allen High stayed on course to make it four-in-a-row in the sprint relay following the preliminary rounds of the high school girls 4x100 metres at the 2017 Penn Relays earlier today.
The Michael Dyke-coached girls are the fastest qualifiers after winning their heat impressively in 44.76 seconds, the only sub-45 seconds on the day.
Four other Jamaican teams are in the Championship of America final slated for tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. (Ja time). Hydel High are the second fastest qualifiers with 45.52 while also advancing are St Jago High, 45.93; St Catherine High, 46.19 and Vere Technical 46.30. Former champions Holmwood Technical failed to advance as their anchor leg runner failed to collect the baton after running out of the exchange zone.
