The Sandals St Mary Cricket Association Big Bash T20 Competition, in honour of Maurice Clarke, bowls into high gear today with the top eight teams engaging in what is expected to be a gripping round of quarterfinal action.

Over at Boscobel Oval, the competition, which has Costly Construction, Parkway Pharmacy, Braham Service Stations, and Wisynco as associate sponsors, will see the home team, Boscobel, up against the dangerous Three Hills in the opening encounter at 9:30 a.m. Boscobel will start favourites with their battery of Senior Cup players led by national representative Alwyn Williams and Tyrone Daley. However, in the hard-hitting Milton Mills and Eugente Hudson and Three Hills could very well upset their more fancied opponents.

In the feature match at Boscobel Oval, long-time rivals Jack’s River and Day’s Mountain will come face to face in a big heavyweight clash. Jack’s River have the firepower in captain Anchard Hamilton, Dwayne Hamilton, and Kemar Williams. Day’s Mountain will be depending on the Bryce brothers, Damion and Andre, and Richardo Thompson.

At Three Hills Oval, Oxford will try and test the powerful and favoured Port Maria team. Port Maria have won all their matches to date and are heavy favourites to go all the way. The second game at the venue will see Gayle facing Highgate.
