Jamaica advance in CONCACAF U17
Jamaica secured a spot in the next round of the CONCACAF Under 17 Football Championships with a 4-2 over Bermuda at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida this afternoon.
Revaldo Mitchell opened the scoring in the 4th minute before Rajay Wright doubled and tripled the score in the 9th and 15th minutes of play for the Young Reggae Boyz.
Bermuda pulled one back just after half-time with Jayce Basden getting on the scoresheet. Gregory Cousins put Jamaica further ahead in minute 51 and Arnezha Astwood got another for the Bermudans in the 64th but it was not enough to prevent the loss.
The win sees Hopeton Gilchrist's side advance in third place from the group on three points, behind table toppers Mexico, finished on nine points after a 5-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago, who finished second on six.
Jamaica will now meet El Salvador in the Round of 16 on Wednesday.
