The competitors in the National Amateur Golf Championships teed off to sunny skies yesterday – day two of the National Amateur Golf Championships. Justin Burrowes finished his second round with three under par 69. Even with a few challenging pin placements, Burrowes had 14 pars, two birdies, an eagle and a bogey.

The Super Senior group, which includes men 60 and over, came out in full force for the first day of competition. National representative, George Hugh ended his first round on 77, two shots ahead of Michael Bradford. Third is Carlysle Hudson with 80 strokes. Howard McKenzie leads the 13+ category with 96.

Jodi Munn held on to her four-stroke lead in the 0-12 ladies category of the tournament. Munn-Barrow added four stokes to Thursday’s score, which gave her 77, which Kei Harris also shot yesterday.

Continuous rain called a halt to the day’s play and some golfers were not able to complete their round. Play will resume early this morning.
