Jamaica's Reggae Girlz trail Brazil 1-0 at halftime, in their debut game, in Group C of the FIFA Women's World Cup in Grenoble, France.

Cristiane rose above Deneisha Blackwood in the 15th minute and put a powerful header beyond Sydney Schneider to send the Olympic semi-finalists in front.

In the 37th, Allyson Swaby handled the ball in the box, leaving the German referee Riem Hussein with no choice but to point to the spot.

Andressa Alves stepped up to take the penalty but Schneider, easily Jamaica's best player of the half, produced another outstanding stop to keep the one goal margin.

The Brazilians are looking to end a nine-game winless run.
