#Champs 2021 | Holmwood, STETHS the major casualties in 4x100m relay prelims
Most of the main title contenders at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships had perfect showings in the preliminary round action in the 4x100m relays on Wednesday morning.
However, Holmwood Technical High School's Class Two quartet was the only major team to miss their final on the girls side.
Favourites to win the Class Two event, it was disappointment for the Christiana based team as one of their sprinters pulled up with an injury during her leg.
In the boys section, St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) had a false start in the Class Two event and missed a berth to the final.
Calabar High School, who won their Class Two heat in 41.26 seconds, are the fastest qualifiers another are followed by Jamaica College (JC) (41.37s), St Jago High School (41.61s), Kingston College (KC) (41.63s), Excelsior High School (42.23s), Ferncourt High School (43.31s), Wolmer's Boys School (42.39s) and Steer Town Academy (43.51s).
Calabar, with 43.19s, are the fastest qualifiers in Class Three. STETHS (44.70s), KC (43.61s), St Jago (45.68s), JC (44.31s), Cornwall College (46.24s), Vere Technical High School (46.18s), and Clarendon College (46.84s) are also through.
St Jago are top in Class One Boys with their 40.28s clocking. They are followed by JC (40.59s), Wolmer's (40.64s), Edwin Allen (40.88s), STETHS (40.66s), Clarendon College (40.89s), St Catherine High School (41.02s) and KC (41.06s).
