Leonie Samuels of Rusea's High School and Natrilia Campbell of Wolmer's Girls School, picked up wins in two early field events finals on day two of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium on Wednesday.

In a surprise result, Samuels picked up the gold medal in the Girl's Class One Shot Put final after tossing the ball, 13.21 metres. Monica Edwards of Edwin Allen picked up silver after finishing second with 12.79m with the bronze medal going to favourite Kayla Davis-Edwards of St Jago High, with a 12.67 metres mark.

Campbell took gold in the Class Four long jump with a distance of 5.42m. Rhianna Chambers, 5.40m of St Catherine High School and Toni-Ann Allen, 5.22m, of Edwin Allen were second and third respectively.
