There were mixed results for Jamaica in the Men's 200m event at the Tokyo, Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday morning.

Dwyer won his heat in 20.31 seconds, ahead of Nigeria's Divine Oduduru (20.36s), and South Africa's Anaso Jobodwana (20.78s).

Julian Forte however, clocked 20.65s for seventh, in his heat which was won by world champion Noab Lyles (20.18s) of the USA.

Also through to the semi-final are the USA's Kenneth Bednarek (20.01s) and Erriyon Knighton (20.55s), the Canadian duo of Aaron Brown (20.38) and Andre de Grasse (20.56s), Qatar's Femi Ogunode (20.37s), Turkey's Ramil Guliyev (20.54s) and Trinidad and Tobago's Jereem Richards (20.52s).

Sprinters Tyquendo Tracey and Yohan Blake were to compete in the event for Jamaica but were forced to withdraw with injuries.
