Jamaica's Damion Lowe (third from right) is shown a red card, just before half-time, by referee Ismael Cornejo of El Salvador.

Jamaica lost 2-1 to Mexico in their Concacaf World Cup qualifying game at the National Stadium tonight.

Daniel Johnson gave the Reggae Boyz the lead in the 50th minute but goals from Henry Martin in the 81st minute and Alexis Vega in the 83rd minute doomed the team to their second home defeat of the campaign and their fifth overall.

Jamaica played with 10 men for 45 minutes after Damion Lowe was sent off two minutes into first-half stoppage time for a dangerous challenge, via a Video Assistant Referee review, the first time that the system was used in the island.

Jamaica will play Panama on Sunday.
