St Catherine High School’s Sandrey Davison is Jamaica’s National U20 100-metre Champion after a display of determination inside the National Stadium this evening.

Davison clocked a personal best 10.20 seconds to claim the win ahead of Kingston College’s Bouwahjgie Nkrumie, 10.22, and Herbert Morrison’s Mark-Anthony Daley, 10.51.

Stumbling at the start, Davison found himself well behind the fast-starting Nkrumie, who at 50 metres seemed to have the field beat.

However, Davison got into his running and surged past the pack before closing on Nkrumie with each stride.

He would catch the fast-starting KC captain 10 metres out and move past him to claim a title his reactions suggested meant a lot to him.
