CG2022 | Gold, bronze for Jamaica in women's high jump
Lamara Distin secured the gold medal while Kimberly Williamson copped bronze for Jamaica in the women’s high jump at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Saturday in Birmingham England.
Distin, who is having an outstanding season, cleared the bar at 1.95 metres to win the event comfortably ahead of Australia’s Eleanor Patterson, who did 1.92.
Williamson, who is the current national champion, also cleared 1.92 metres for the bronze medal. She was, however, awarded third place after clearing the height on her third attempt, while Patterson achieved the mark on her second try.
