Kingston College's (KC) Ethan Gioko set the early pace, while Kemario Bygrave of Jamaica College cruised comfortably into the next round of the Class I Boys’ 1500 metres at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletic Championships earlier today.

Gioko qualified with the fastest time of the field, clocking 4:11.06 seconds to win his first-round heat, while his teammate Ainsley Campbell goes into the next round with 4:13.10.

Third on the list of quickest through to the next round is William Knibb's Nathaniel Wallace with 4:13.15.

Bygrave, who is targeting a middle-distance double, won his first-round heat in 4:14.97, the fifth-fastest time in the field

Meanwhile in Class II KC's Nahashon Ruto, with 4:14.85, was the quickest qualifier, while Bellefield High's Roquelme Johnson goes into tomorrow with the second quickest time of 4:15.69.

Ruto's teammate Brian Kiprop had the third fastest time in 4:18.05.

In Class III, Edwin Allen's Moses Johnson had the fastest time in qualifying with 4:33.35. KC's Christopher Anderson had the second fastest with 4:34.77, while Javaughnie Green of Calabar, 4:35.65, goes into the next round with the third fastest time.
