Minutes after Holmwood Technical High School's Cedricka Williams broke the six-year-old Class I Girls’ discus record, St Jago’s Abigail Martin broke it again on her way to qualifying for the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships final.

Martin's effort of 55.17 metres with her first-round throw erased Williams's 53.22. The record before today, was 53.04, set by Edwin Allen's Fiona Richards in 2017.

The record-throwing feats now sets up a battle royal for tomorrow's final, slated for 6:56 p.m.
