#Champs2023 | Edwin Allen’s James strikes first blood in the heptathlon

Edwin Allen's Ishna James has taken the early lead in the girls’ heptathlon at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships today at the National Stadium.
James had the fastest time in the opening event, the 100m hurdles, clocking 14.64 seconds to score 890 points. Sherika Thomas of Glengoffe High (14.73) had the second fastest time and scored 878 points for second place in the standings, while Sherika Christie of Hydel clocked 15.05 for the third fastest time and scored 835 points to take up third place.
