#Champs2023 | Edwin Allen’s Shaw scores Class Two discus win
“I just listened to my coach and executed,” was the simple response from Edwin Allen’s Dionjah Shaw, who, in her first year in Class Two, claimed the girls’ discus title at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships inside the National Stadium.
Shaw, who won in Class Three last year with a record-breaking performance, threw the discus 46.27 metres to claim the title ahead of teammate Shamoya Morrison, 44.95.
The 16 points for Edwin Allen took them to 113 points, to Hydel High School’s 101 after 17 finals.
Clarendon College’s Marla-Kay Lampart was third in the event with 43.15 metres.
