Jamaica’s ace long jumper and 2019 World Championships winner Tajay Gayle returned to his impressive best as he won the men’s long jump after cutting the sand at 8.02 metres in his third attempt at the Racers’ Grand Prix tonight at the National Stadium.

Another Jamaican Shawn-D Thompson, with a season’s best effort of 7.75 metres, was good enough for second, while Guyana’s Emanuel Archibald also produced a season’s best of 7.75 but had to settle for third place.
