No strategic thinking

The Editor, Sir:

I am concerned that in the midst of this global and national recession, that there seems to be no strategic thinking or planning on the part of our government. Why is that we move from one drought to another and still we have not made adequate provisions?

As a professional of this country, I often wonder why is that we can't seem to set clear country goals and make much progress. We live from 'pay cheque to pay cheque' simply trying to weather the storms it seems with no clear vision for the future coming across to the Caribbean and the world as a bunch of inept people. Without vision, we will indeed perish and that has been the scenario for a while now.

As much as the Opposition played its role in the economic crisis, we cannot afford for them to sit idly by and say nothing. We need a strong Opposition and we need an even stronger government.

Also, why can't we find a good public option for Air Jamaica? Who wants to see the airline in the hands of another country ... our much loved national carrier?

I am etc.,
