Oh so easy for Jamalco

Defending champions Jamalco recorded their second consecutive win in the Jamaica Netball Association's (JNA)/ Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Open League competition, with an easy 50-5 victory over the University of Technology (UTech) on Tuesday at the Leila Robinson Courts.

The Winston Nevers-coached Jamalco, team which included the likes of national representatives Romelda Aiken, Nadine Bryan and Nicole Aiken, took command of the match from the opening whistle and held a 20-3 lead at half-time.

The Clarendon-based side, who won the opening rally competition, outscored their opponents 30-2 in the second half, as they eased to a comfortable victory.

Other games

In the evening's other games, former champions Tivoli Gardens 'A' registered their second straight win of the competition with a comfortable 60-4 victory over New Kingston Raiders.

Tivoli, who have acquired the services of former national players Oberon Pitterson, Marvette Murray and Sharmalee Watkins from Waulgrovians, led 31-2 at half-time.

The west Kingston-based team, which last won the competition in 2008, outscored their opponents 29-2 in the second half.

In other games, Rollington Town defeated Millennium Strikers 43-11, Molynes United 'C' got the better of Hampshire 'B' 18-15, Ebony Striker 'A' shot past the Jamaica Defence Force 35-18, Ravens 'B' beat Greenwich 21-15, Correctional Services stopped Jetsetters 'B' 25-19, and Speg 'B' beat Red Challenge 24-17.
