American business tycoon killed

Western Bureau: AN AMERICAN businessman was murdered yesterday at his home in the upscale community of Ironshore, Montego Bay.
The police are now investigating the killing of Geffrey Fanning, 55-year-old businessman and developer of the Villages of Colbeck housing project in St Catherine.

His death has left both the police and residents in shock.
Investigators say they have not yet established a motive for Fanning's murder.
The tycoon was reportedly reading a book on the pool deck of his rented home along Patterson Avenue at about midday Friday when explosions were heard.
Fanning was later found lying in a pool of blood. He had been shot in the head and lower section of the body. His belongings were untouched.
