THE EDITOR, Sir:

Kindly permit me space in this powerful medium to express my sincere gratitude to the St Ann Bauxite Partners, Discovery Bay, St Ann, for contributing to my education over the past three years.

I am a final-year student at Church Teachers' College, Mandeville, where I am pursuing a diploma in secondary education, majoring in social studies and religious education. I have benefited immensely from this venture. In fact, I have been able, with ease, to finance my school fee since enrolling in college.

Financial pressure

I am positive that had it not been for the kindness of this organisation I would have encountered difficulty financing my tuition. This is largely because my father, who is my main source of financial support, has been encountering extreme financial pressure. Therefore, the company has proved helpful during this difficult time.

I must bring to your attention that I am not the only student whom the company has assisted. It has provided financial assistance to other students, for example, students enrolled in various teachers' colleges and universities in Jamaica.

That the company has been playing such a pivotal role in education is really commendable.
