Soldier dies after collapsing
Military personnel at the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Coast Guard based in Discovery Bay, St Ann, were on Thursday jolted by the untimely death of one of their colleagues.
Twenty-four-year-old Ordinary Seaman André Grant went jogging with another soldier on Thursday afternoon when he collapsed.
The soldier was rushed to the St Ann's Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
"We are very sad and the atmosphere here is very sombre," a soldier at the military base in Discovery Bay told

Grant, who hailed from Ewarton in St Catherine, joined the JDF in June 2007. He is the second soldier to have died this month.
On February 5, Turma Lambert Lee, who was also a 24-year-old private, was attacked and killed by gunmen while standing at a bus stop on Washington Boulevard in St Andrew.
