The National Indoor Sports Centre will be buzzing with excitement today when the opening ceremony, dress parade and rally competition in the Supreme Ventures 'A' and 'C' Leagues start at 3 p.m.

Thirty-three teams are down to participate in this tournament - 20 in Division 'C' and 13 in Division 'A'.

Upper Camp are the defending champions in Division C, while Skibo 'A' are the defending champions in Division A.

Carlene Edwards, senior corporate communication officer, Supreme Ventures, said they are looking forward to a very exciting season.

She said: "We are looking for very competitive matches from all the teams because these clubs are looking forward to the prize monies that are on offer, and the scholarships that will be awarded," said Edwards.

"We are looking forward to a big turnout and hoping that all the teams will be represented. The rally competition always produces a strong rivalry between the teams," she said.

There is a 41 percent increase in this year's prize money and six scholarships will be offered - three from Division A and three for Division C.

In an effort to attract a lot more spectators to this year's competition, Edwards noted that her company would also be providing prizes and surprises at the matches.

"Netball, oftentimes, is overlooked for the other sports. we believe that our investment in netball at this time is a good move, as we continue to support youth development in the country," Edwards said.
