Policeman succumbs to injuries

The police constable who was attacked by a man of unsound mind in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, just over a week ago has died

Twenty-nine-year-old Special Constable Norman Nunez, who was attached to the security detail of Mayor of Kingston Desmond McKenzie died at hospital Friday night from wounds he sustained when he was attacked by the mentally challenged man on Thursday, February 12.

In his tribute to the slain cop, National Security Minister Dwight Nelson said his death was even more tragic and heart-rending because of the unfortunate circum-stances under which the incident occurred.
