MY DOWNTIME WITH ...Deborah Cox

Born in Ontario, Canada, Deborah Cox moved to Los Angeles in 1994 to further her career as a singer and entertainer. In those early years, she landed a role as a back-up singer for Celine Dion for six months.
In 1995, she signed to Arista Records and has recorded many memorable hits and albums. Chart toppers such as
Nobody Supposed to be Here
made Cox a household name after it spent many weeks on international charts, peaking at number one.
Not only is Cox a talented singer, she also acts. And, at the recent Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in Trelawny, the multi-talented star performed as part of the trio, Queen Project.
We asked her:
- Where is the last interesting place you visited?
I would have to say London. I hadn't been there in a while and I recently visited there and got the chance to meet up with my family .
- What music are you listening right now?
I am listening a lot of gospel and old-school music right now.
- What was the last interesting book you read?
(She laughs) Do magazines count? I read magazines a lot, right now I am reading three.
