Defending champions St Elizabeth Technical are well placed to secure their place among the early qualifiers for the second round of the Grace/ISSA Headley Cup.

The champions registered their fourth straight win in the preliminary round, with an easy eight-wicket effort against Maggotty. Knockalva's withdrawal from the competition left STETHS idle on Tuesday. However, with previous wins against Lewisville, Newell and Munro - perhaps the only one that can stop them from advancing as the top-place team from Zone C - STETHS just need victory against Lacovia tomorrow. That would render the result in their final match against BB Coke next week, academic interest.

Munro's schedule has been disrupted by their midterm break. Their only loss has come against STETHS, but they have wins against Maggotty and BB Coke. Newell also appear in the running after victories over Maggotty and Lewisville.
