Celebrities spin for fun
Round Hill's Josef Forstmayr played music from Ibiza, Omar 'Muscles' Robinson went up north for Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, and Black Eyed Peas, while Sandals Resorts' Wayne Cummings stayed 'home' with the traditional reggae artistes.
The Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association's (JHTA), Montego Bay chapter, Celebrity Spin-Off at Groovy Grouper last Saturday was the bomb!
The only challenge - not enough people turned out to experience the excitement.
As early as 10 p.m. the intimate gathering that left home for the much anticipated DJ clash, waited with bated breath for a spin-off between food aficionado Cecile Levee and journalist Janet Silvera, but this was not to become a reality owing to the excuse Levee had to 'babysit' her two grown daughters.
Missed as the feisty DJ was, her absence was filled by Secret Resorts' Delwin 'DJ Del' Rochester, Breezes Trelawny's Richard 'DJ Scritch' Bourke and attorney-at-law Gordon 'Master G' Brown.
Surpassed all expectations
This group and Bridget 'DJ Bree' Young surpassed all expectations, showcasing a standard known to selectors at 'Renaissance', 'Stone Love' or 'Base Odyssey'.
With all systems going at 1 a.m, organiser of the event Omar Robinson crowned defending champion Janet Silvera, DJ of the Quarter.
"We still want a clash between Levee and Silvera, and so we will be back at this same venue in May," promised Robinson.
