MARABELLA, Trinidad (CMC):

Jamaica's disappointing run at the four-nation Under-17 Invitational women's tournament continued on Wednesday night when they suffered a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Canada.

Playing at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Jamaica were no match for the Canadians, conceding two goals in each half to fall to defeat.

It was the second below-par result for the Jamaicans, who were held to a 0-0 draw in their opening match on Sunday.

In the other match of the double-header, Trinidad and Tobago continued their barren spell, falling to a 2-0 defeat to Mexico.

Vying for their first win of the tournament, Jamaica kept the Canadians at bay until the 35th minute when Chantale Campbell found the back of the nets.
