Edwin Allen dethrone Holmwood

St Jago totally obliterated their competitors in the boys section to retain their title, while defending girls champions Holmwood Technical were dethroned by Edwin Allen, as the fourth staging of the Milo Central Athletics Championship ended at G.C. Foster College yesterday.

The St Jago boys amassed 313.5 points over the two-day event - 133.5 points clear of their nearest rivals, Holmwood, who could only muster 180 points. The top five were rounded off by Edwin Allen, who amassed 143.5 to better their fourth-place finish last year, and Manchester High (84), followed by Vere Technical on 58.

The Edwin Allen girls were in blistering form as they amassed 371.5 points to gain their first hold on the girls' crown. St Jago finished 34.5 points adrift, as they accumulated 337 points to finish second.

Multiple Girls' Champs winners Holmwood Technical finished a surprising third with 321.5 points, while Vere Technical were a distant fourth on 190 points. Manchester High round off the top five with a total of 163.5 points.

The event also saw a whopping 83 records being broken.
