Busy local schedule for Queen's Baton

The Queen's Baton which contains Her Majesty's message which will be read at this year's Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, is due to arrive in Jamaica on Saturday, March 27, the final day of the 2010 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Championships.
Minister of Sports Olivia Grange and His Excellency Mohinder Grover, Indian high commissioner to Jamaica, will receive the baton from Commonwealth Games Federation president Mike Fennell during the championships.
After making its way around the island over a five-day period, the Queen's Baton will leave Jamaica for the Cayman Islands on Wednesday, March 31.
Among the numerous activities planned for the Queen's Baton are:
Saturday, March 27
Arriving from Anguilla via the Norman Manley International Airport, the baton will be taken to the National Stadium during the hosting of the Boys and Girls' Championships, where it will be presented to Minister of Sports Olivia Grange and HE Mohinder Grover.
The baton will also make a symbolic lap around the track by a team of sports personalities from athletics, cycling, badminton, boxing, swimming, squash, table tennis and netball.
The baton will then leave the stadium with stops for photo opportunities at Statue Park (stadium) and the Bob Marley statue.
Sunday, March 28
The baton team will go to King's House for a courtesy visit with the governor general.
Monday, March 29
The baton team will start its island tour with photo opportunities along the way, to be met by Neville Myton's team at Jamalco, Pat Anderson's team in Mandeville and Ray Harvey's team, as well as the Indian community, in Montego Bay
A reception is to be held by the Indian community.
Tuesday, March 30
The baton team will embark on the return leg to Kingston via Falmouth, with stops at some of the schools along the way, Dunn's River (for photo opportunities), G.C. Foster College and Spanish Town before arriving back in Kingston.
A reception will then be hosted by HE Mohinder Grover.
Wednesday, March 31
Baton team departs Norman Manley International Airport for the Cayman Islands.
