Grandeur for affordable red carpet fashion

Everyone wants fashion fit for the red carpet but still affordable when they purchase an outfit. The good news is, there is a new store called Grandeur that offers just that.

Grandeur, located at Vision Plaza, Central Avenue in St Andrew is the brainchild of Tesi Johnson and Ricardo Barrett. Grandeur is a high-fashion retail store that provides both men's and women's wear at a low cost, starting at $1,000 and going no higher than $4,000.

Johnson, who is an avid fashion lover said at the store's grand opening on March 31, that it was with the experience she garnered through fashion journalism and advice from business partner, Barrett - who has been in the business for five years, that made the store a reality.

"He thought that I had an eye for fashion, so he introduced me to retail fashion and that's when the idea of doing a store came about," said Johnson.

Johnson says she loves the concept of the store (high fashion for less), because she simply doesn't believe that trendy clothes need to be so expensive. "Jamaicans tend to love fashion, but many of us operate on a budget, and that sometimes prevents us from indulging that love."

Trendiest pieces

So, she said both her partner and herself searched the globe to find the trendiest pieces at the most reasonable prices to pass on to their clients.

The store's design portrays a modern contemporary finish that will appeal to the individual who has an appetite for elegance. For the opening, fashion enthusiasts came out to get a first peek at some of the trendiest outfits from the new hot spot.

Grandeur, Shop# 9, Vision Plaza, 3A Central Avenue. Open Mondays to Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
