The Editor, Sir:
Recently, you have been placing a banner headline in The Gleaner, daily, of the number of murders committed in Jamaica since the start of the year.
I am not denying that these murders occur. However, must we see it written in bold letters on the front page every day? What is the purpose of this? It could be equally effective on page two or three.
It is appalling that this is the situation in Jamaica today when the country is not officially at war.
Emblazoning this on the front page only helps to demoralise us a little more.
