With the 2009-10 St James Football Association Claro Senior League now approaching its halfway stage in the preliminary round, Zone A is steadily heating up into a real battle for supremacy as there is now a three-way tie atop the six-team zone.

The race for honours in Zone B, which also features six teams, is also interestingly poised, as only two points separate the top three teams, who have all shared the lead at various stages during the seven rounds of matches that have been played.

In Zone A, Barrett Town, Salt Spring United and Revelation are all tied on 15 points with the identical record of four wins, three draws and one defeat in eight games.

In the goal-difference department, the situation is almost the same, while Barrett Town's statistics read 12 goals for and seven against, Salt Spring and Revelation have identical 11 goals for and four against.

In the lower three places in the group, the situation is also quite close as three points separate the teams. Salt Spring Roses and Mountain Villa are tied on seven each, with Mount Salem FC at the bottom on four.

In Zone B, the unbeaten Tomorrow's People lead the standings with 16 points, accumulated through five wins and a draw in six games. Granville City, which have played two more games than Tomorrow's People, hold second place with 14 points. They have four wins, two draws and two defeats in eight games.

Fogo United are third on 13 points, with Gully Ambassador fourth on seven and ABES Academy and Melbourne jointly at the bottom with four points.
