Thousands of track and field enthusiasts packed the National Stadium last night, for the seventh renewal of the JN-sponsored Jamaica International Invitational (JII) meet.

With a host of the globe's top stars scheduled to feature at the IAAF Area Permit meet, patrons lined the venue's corridors in what was the biggest crowd at the venue for a while outside of the Boys and Girls' Championships.

In the evening's first event, Holmwood Technical outclassed the field in the high school girls 4x100 metres clocking 45.23 from lane seven to get the better of Herbert Morrison, 45.36, and Edwin Allen, 45.76.

The high school boys 4x100m was won by Camperdown, 40.27 humbling Penn Relays champions Wolmer's Boys, 40.87, into second place while St George's College, 41.17, finished third.

Trinidadian Josanne Lucas claimed the women's 400m hurdles in 54.96 seconds ahead of Dominique Darden (USA), 55.78, and Jamaica's Nikiesha Wilson, 55.92 in another early event.
