Cat catches the mouse!
When Chevan Gabbidon and Tanisha Stone met seven years ago, it was not love at first sight, at least for Stone. However, after playing the cat and mouse game, they tied the knot on May 22.
The couple got married at the Power of Faith church in Portmore, St Catherine. The officiating minister was Pastor Kevin Lalor and the reception was held at the Hotel Four Seasons in St Andrew.
Gabbidon and Stone who met in 2003, attend the same church. Gabbidon was smitten with Stone on sight. He tried to talk to her but she refused. She said she thought that his head resembled Batman's, so she chased him away. But he did not give up and continued pursuing her.
A year later, her twin sister, Theresa Beckford, sat her down and assured her that she heard all good things about Gabbidon and believed that he is a good man, so she should give him a chance. However, Stone still did not budge. Stone said she was scared to talk to him because she often heard musicians (which Gabbidon was at the time), are players. "So I was not interested in getting to know him," said Stone.
In 2005, while the two where at choir rehearsals, Gabbidon went up to Stone and asked her for her number. She tried to chase him away, but he was not about to give up.
"I then decided to give him my number. I told him I was only going to let him have it once and I was not going to write it down. I just used my fingers to show the digits."
Luckily Gabbidon was quick, and he got the numbers. They became friends and, shortly after, started dating. They dated for three years.
Stone told Flair that now she is the happiest woman because she got the man of her dreams. "And he cherishes and loves me and I cherish and love him as well."
