The thanksgiving service for the life of Barbara Williams will be held this Saturday at the Bethel Baptist Church in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, commencing at 10 a.m.

Interment follows in the Mamby Park Baptist Church Cemetery, 161 Constant Spring Road.

Williams had worked at The Gleaner Company Ltd since June 1971.

Serving in several capacities over her career, she was secretary to the deputy managing director until June 2009, after which she took up the post of book project coordinator.

"She was a hard-working and conscientious person who supported her boss," said Collin Bourne, manager for print, plant and distribution at The Gleaner Company Ltd. "I have never heard anybody she had worked with question her honesty, integrity or commitment to the work. She was a model worker for many persons within this company."

Williams, who had been ailing for some time, passed away on March 1.
