Glendon West will head to Pyeong Chang, South Korea, on March 16 to attend the Heads of Delegation (HOD) Meeting for the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games, which will be held in that city from January 26-February 6, 2013.

West, a founding member and principal of Windsor School for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, as well as one of the most experienced coaches of Special Olympics Jamaica (SOJ), will be on a fact-finding mission in South Korea.

There he will visit facilities and attend various meetings, which will benefit the preparation of Jamaica's delegation to the World Winter Games.

West's trip to the HOD meeting is being facilitated by Digicel Jamaica, which has once again committed to support SOJ with their journey to South Korea.

SOJ's quota will be 16 athletes for floor hockey, two athletes for artistic skating (dancing on ice), three coaches and two officials. Pat Lu Chin will again travel with the team as the assistant HOD and physiotherapist.

Meanwhile, SOJ will be holding its annual fund-raising Fish Fry on Friday at the Police Officers' Club and executive director, Lorna Bell, is upbeat about the event. It is set to start at 7 a.m. and end at 8 p.m.
