The People's National Party's (PNP) controversial job-creation scheme, the Jamaica Emergency Employment Programme (JEEP) will finally hit the streets tomorrow, days before the local government election, according to PNP's president and Jamaica's prime minister, Portia Simpson Miller, who made the disclosure at the PNP's Frankfield's mass meeting on Friday.

"They (critics) said JEEP don't have any engine, they said JEEP cannot drive and JEEP will never be a reality, but as we speak all 63 members of parliament have been given a letter for them to submit a project of their choice, for up to $10 million to the Ministry of Transport and Works. So come next Monday, JEEP will hit the street," promised an enthused Simpson Miller.
