JEEP won't miss me
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I read the paper with a feeling of hope on news of the Jamaica Emergency Employment Programme (JEEP) naming its operational head. This appointment came at a time when my financial situation is at its lowest, as I have been unemployed for more than two years since being laid off.
I am happy with the plan to get 5,000 citizens working in these tough times.
I am confident that JEEP won't miss me. I am employable. All I ask is an opportunity to earn an honest wage.
While I might have missed the chance to be among the first batch that found an opportunity, I know that eventually my prayers will be answered. I won't allow this JEEP to pass me by.
